Sanghadana for Myanmar Buddhist Monks and Nuns

For the first time in the known Buddhist history in Sri Lanka, Yahangala ancient Royal temple could offer a sanghadana for eighty Myanmar monks and nuns on this day. For this historical offering ceremony, the Mahanayaka Mahathera of the Sri Lanka Ramanna Sect, Most Venerable Makulaewe Wimala Maha Thero, the Anunayaka of the Asgiriya Chapter of Sri Lanka Siyam Nikaya, Most Venerable Wedaruwe Upali Maha Thero, the Anunayaka of the Kalyani Kotte Chapter of Siyam Nikaya, Most Venerable Professor Kotapitiye Rahula Mahathero, and Chief Sanghanayaka of Southern Sri Lanka of Ramanna Maha Nikaya, Most Venerable Dr. Omalpe Sobhita Mahathero attended.  The former President of All Ceylon Buddhist Congress Mr Jagath Sumathipala, Actress Suvineeta Weerasingha, Mr Nandalal Malagoda, and many other lay dignitaries were present.

This event was organized by the Venerable Dr.Wadinagala Pannaloka Mahathera, the Chief Incumbent with the support of Taiwanese Devotees, Madam Hunag Ye-Hua, Ms. Wang Suchen and Mr Chang His-Chih and Family.
