Under the instructions of Venerable Professor Kuala Lampur Dhammajoti ,the Director of Buddha-Dharma Centre of Hong Kong,  the Sri Lanka Relief Program 2023 is being carried out across Sri Lanka through selected coordinators. The donors are The Buddhist Association of Hong Kong and Glorious  Sun Charity Group Foundation-Kong.

Venerable Dr.Wadinagala Pannaloka coordinated five villages, Yahangala, Julgamuwa and Koholankala in Hambantota Regional Secretariat, Mahagalweva in Sooriyaweva and Palapota under Beliatta Regional Secretariat.

For 1000 beneficiaries, dry food packages and money worth of ten thousand rupees were distributed. For the temples, Yahangala ancient Royal Temple at Bandagiriya, Ghositaramaya, at Julgamuwa, Sumanaramaya at Koholanka, Padikemgala Purana Viharaya at Mahagalweva and Siri Wijayaramaya at Palapota, Rs 2,25,000 was donated per each.

The ancient pagoda situated on the top of the Yahangala rock dates back to the pre-Christian era. However, for the last years, there was no lighting system for the  pagoda. So, the current Chief Incumbent Venerable Dr.Wadinagala Pannaloka set up a permanent lighting system  in the last  January 2023.

The  cost of the entire project was donated by  Madam Huang Ye-Hua, Ms Wang Shu-chen, Mr.Chang His Chih and their Taiwanese friends.

The Chief Incumbent of Yahangala temple, Venerable Dr.Wadinagala Pannaloka organzed a dry food donation programme  for six hundred recipients at Yahangala Ancient Royal Temple, Bandagiriya.

The programme was sponsored by Madam Huang-ye Hua, Ms Wang Su-chen and Mr Chang His Chi from Taiwan.

For two hundred Sunday Dhamma school children of Sri Seelawansa Daham Pasala, stationeries were donated. The activity was sponsored by Venerable Tikkasara from Myanmar and his devotees.

For eighty pregnant mothers living in Bandagiriya, a package of nutritious food was donated. The activity was sponsored by Venerable Tikkasara from Myanmar and his devotees.

In celebration of the Poson Full moon Day, the temple organized  ten thousand oil lamps offering to the Buddha.

For the first time in the known Buddhist history in Sri Lanka, Yahangala ancient Royal temple could offer a sanghadana for eighty Mynamar monks and nuns on this day. For this historical offering ceremony, the Mahanayaka Mahathera of the Sri Lanka Ramanna Sect, Most Venerable Makulaewe Wimala Maha Thero, the Anunayaka of the Asgiriya Chapter of Sri Lanka Siyam Nikaya, Most Venerable Wedaruwe Upali Maha Thero, the Anunayaka of the Kalyani Kotte Chapter of Siyam Nikaya, Most Venerable Professor Kotapitiye Rahula Mahathero, and Chief Sanghanayaka of Southern Sri Lanka of Ramanna Maha Nikaya, Most Venerable Dr. Omalpe Sobhita Mahathero attended. The former President of All Ceylon Buddhist Congress Mr Jagath Sumathipala, Actress Suvineeta Weerasingha, Mr Nandalal Malagoda, and many other lay dignitaries were present.
