Moonstone

Monuments in the place can be traced back to Anuradhapura period, specially to the early phase of it. The moonstone found here lacks decorative features like animals, which were added in a later period. The moonstone is found at the end of a staircase starting from a
ruined building structure near the pagodas. It starts from a ruined building structure which could have been a shrine room, joins the main staircase. At the place where the two cases of the place meet, the moonstone has been carved on the rock.
